5 Months Old Today

Gunner is a big 5.0 (months). Yesterday morning Mike said, "I think Gunner grew about an inch overnight!" He did look taller!
He's really good with his hands these days--he can reach out and grab at his toys and stick them right in his mouth and drool all over (we're so proud). :-) He's also rolling over all the time and he sleeps on his side sometimes. One of these days he'll be able to sit up by himself...he's getting closer!

Gunner is such a thoughtful son. He got his momma a Tassimo coffee/latte maker for Mother's day. It was such an awesome gift! And, he took me on a hike up to the Reservoir in Palmer Lake with Mike and Maisy. The last time we had done that hike was when I was 5 months pregnant. It was gorgeous up there!! He really enjoyed hiking (riding) in the Baby Bjorn. He stayed awake the whole way up, but then slept on the trip down the mountain.

Just thought we'd add this video of Gunner before bedtime. He's always very happy and LOUD on the changing table before we put him to bed. I think it's his play to distract us from putting him in the crib.

Gunner is still doing great. We haven't posted anything new for a few weeks so I thought we'd add some more pictures. He's able to sit up in his play gym and he loves it. I can tell that Johnny Jump Up is right around the corner! Maybe he'll have it mastered by the time Linda gets out here.
We bought a jog stroller so we've been going on lots of walks lately. He likes the fresh air. He's also been playing a lot with Stacy and her boys, Marshall and Mitchell. They both read books to Gunner and he loves it! I hear Pirate Pete is his favorite. He also likes classical music and he loves it when people whistle to him.

First Word!

Holy cow! Gunner just said his name! Ok, not really, but it sure sounds like it. Watch this video clip and he says "Gunner" right at the end. We swear, we didn't dub this.

Gunner is 4 months!

He had his 4 month checkup today and is 24" long and 12 lbs. We need to fatten him up some more, but he's very healthy and is doing great! He's so happy and is smiling and laughing with his newly discovered voice. We'll post some video of him laughing one of these days....

Trip to Virginia

Gunner took his second cross country trip at just three months old! He's a GREAT traveler and likes the airplane rides.

We had a terrific time in Virginia visiting Blitz, Lefty, and Sammy Small at their home in Williamsburg. What a neat area! While we were there, we took a day trip to DC. It was a first for both Gunner and Missy to see the Capitol city. We're still waiting for Blitz and Lefty to send us more pictures of the trip there....maybe one of these days they'll get their act together! :-)
